CM Dhami stresses on importance of yoga, outlines initiatives to boost tourism in Adi Kailash

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his views on the importance of Yoga and disseminated his message on the International Yoga Day in the yoga program organized in Adikailash.

Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) [India], June 21 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his views on the importance of Yoga and on the International Yoga Day at an event in Adikailash.
The Chief Minister also outlined the measures that can be taken to boost tourism in the region.
Expressing his views on the importance of yoga, CM Dhami said, "Yoga has the power to make human life happy. Yoga is a confluence of body, mind and soul."
The Chief Minister called upon the tourists and devotees in the Adikailash area that the tourists coming to this holy land of Lord Bholenath should come as devotees. This will give them a feeling of spiritual peace.
The Chief Minister said, "With the arrival of a large number of tourists and devotees in this area, the local people will get means of employment and self-employment. Promoting local food will also promote local products. The woollen carpet industry has also been the basis of the economy here; efforts would be made to promote it."
He emphasized on developing 100% homestay-based tourism while keeping in mind the local architecture in the construction of buildings to be built in urbanization in this area.
The Chief Minister asked to pay attention to the standardization of transport facilities in the area and simplification of the process of issuing inner line permits. In this direction, sensitivity and transparency will have to be taken care of, this will facilitate the people coming here.
He further emphasized the stability of the border area and said, "People coming from the country and the world should not have to face any trouble through middlemen in this area. There is a need to pay attention to the issue that there should not be any kind of unrest in this sensitive border area."
Speaking about the pollution control measures, the Chief Minister said, "At present the environment is getting polluted along with the drying up of natural water sources. In this direction, an action plan has been made to revive traditional streams, springs, and ghats. Everyone will have to cooperate in this.
"Uttarakhand can make its identity as an ideal state and give direction to the country in the conservation and enhancement of water and forest, we all have to contribute to this too," he added.
The Chief Minister also appealed to everyone to plant as many trees as possible for environmental protection.
Chief Minister Dhami conveyed, "In the future, Gunji will be made a Shivdham through a master plan in which suggestions of local people will also be taken. People of Gunji, Nabi, Kuti, Nauti, and Bundi will be connected to the mainstream of development, for which the central and state governments are making efforts.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Chief Minister arrived at the Shiva temple near Parvati Sarovar and prayed in the temple according to the customs of Kuti society and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of Uttarakhand.
Earlier, in the day, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed yoga with local people, security personnel and tourists at Parvati Sarovar in Adi Kailash in the district of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on Friday.
He further expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularising yoga in the world. (ANI)
