CM Dhami participates in 'Shiv Samagam' programme, releases book 'The Eternal Lord Great Shiva Temples of Uttarakhand'

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 'Shiv Samagam' programme organized in Haridwar on Tuesday. On this occasion, he also released the book The Eternal Lord Great Shiva Temples of Uttarakhand, prepared by the Haridwar District Administration based on various Shiva temples in the state.

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], July 30 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 'Shiv Samagam' programme organized in Haridwar on Tuesday. On this occasion, he also released the book The Eternal Lord Great Shiva Temples of Uttarakhand, prepared by the Haridwar District Administration based on various Shiva temples in the state.
The Chief Minister said in this program that he has the privilege of serving the Shiva devotees, Kanwariyas, who have come to the holy city of Haridwar as the Chief Servant of the state, which is a blessing of Devadidev Mahadev. He said that the Kanwar Yatra works to tie the whole country together, people from different states reach the religious city of Haridwar to take holy Ganga water.
He said, "Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is working on a special plan to give a grand and divine look to Har Ki Pauri as well as to provide various facilities to the devotees in the form of the Rishikesh-Haridwar corridor."
Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday welcomed the Kanwar Yatris (Shiva devotees) who came from different states at Om Pul Ghat near Damkothi, Haridwar, by washing their feet and offering garlands, shawls, and Gangajal.
Welcoming the Kanwariyas who came to Uttarakhand from different states of the country, he said that Haridwar is the centre of devotion for the whole country. This holy place has the special blessings of Mother Ganga and Lord Bholenath. "Kanwar Yatra has special significance in the month of Shravan. The state government has the privilege of welcoming the Kanwariyas. By making the Kanwar Yatra smooth and safe, the government is working as a supporter of the Kanwariyas in this journey. Serving the Kanwariyas is a virtuous act for everyone," CM Dhami said.
He described the welcoming of Kanwariyas with flower showers as the tradition of Atithi Devo Bhavah of Devbhoomi.
The Chief Minister said, "We should not only enjoy the journey by joining the system, but also contribute to the successful progress of the Kanwar Yatra program of the holy month of Shravan by showing self-discipline with faith and belief." (ANI)
