CM Bhupendra Patel unveils commemorative postage stamp to mark 25 years' of Mundra Port

To celebrate 25 years of Mundra Port's contribution to the country's maritime sector and economic development, the Indian Department of Posts issued a postage stamp.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 9 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled a commemorative postage stamp in Gandhinagar today to commemorate the completion of 25 years of development of Mundra Port on Wednesday.
A commemorative postage stamp titled "25 Years of Progress - Mundra Port" depicting the development journey of Mundra from an ordinary jetty to a global shipping hub as an important commercial port of the country is presented. This commemorative postage stamp has been issued by India Post on 9 October World Postal Day.
The commemorative stamp released by India Post is titled "25 Years of Progress - Mundra Port" and the stamp sheet containing 12 stamps has been produced by India Post in collaboration with APSEZ. 5,000 stamp sheets with a total of 60,000 stamps have been printed at Hyderabad's Security Printing Press.
Not only this, a replica of the stamp sheet will also be permanently displayed at the National Philatelic Museum in New Delhi.
These stamps will be available for purchase through India Post's e-portal. Apart from this Mundra Port commemorative stamp, India Post has also introduced a special cover and stamp cancellation procedure.
Mundra is an important port on the north coast of the Gulf of Kutch. This port was given permission to start as a captive jetty in 1994 by the Gujarat Maritime Board.
Since then the port has been developed on a Public Private Partnership basis, not only that, since 2001 Mundra Port and Special Economic SEZ (MPSEZ) has been operational. (ANI)
