Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 1 (ANI): Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel paid homage to the overflowing Narmada River by reaching the Sardar Sarovar dam site Ekta Nagar on Tuesday afternoon.

The water level of Sardar Sarovar Dam of Narmada Yojana, Jivadori equivalent for water revolution and agriculture revolution in Gujarat, has reached its maximum level of 138.68 meters, i.e., 455 feet.
The total water storage capacity of this 138.68 metre surface of the dam is 9460 million cubic metres.
Sardar Sarovar Dam started overflowing on August 11 due to good rains in the rainy season this year. The reservoir has overflowed for 51 days so far and a total of 10,012 million cubic meters, i.e., 8,177 MAF of water, has come due to overflow.
Not only this, a total of 1343 MW electricity has been generated in the river bed power house and canal head power house of the Narmada scheme during monsoon this year and so far 6283 crore units of electricity, the statement said.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel offered drinking water to 10,014 villages, 183 cities and 7 municipal areas in the state, providing drinking water to a total of 4 crore people in the reservoir of this project, overflowing to the full surface, and worshiped the water sign amidst chanting in a joyful atmosphere.
It is necessary to point out here that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave permission to complete the remaining work of Narmada Dam and set up the gate within 17 days of taking over as the Prime Minister.
The state government also took up this work immediately and completed all the work, including the work of 30 gates, 9 months earlier than the scheduled time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had dedicated the Sardar Sarovar Dam to the nation on his birthday, 17th September 2017.
Since its inauguration in 2017, the dam has been filled to its maximum level five times so far. After the overflow of Sardar Sarovar Dam, the water was flowing in vain to the sea, now, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi and proper water management, water is being delivered to 9 large-medium water reservoirs and 909 lakes in North Gujarat through Sujalam Suflam Yojana to fill 115 dams of Saurashtra through the Souni Yojana.
This year too, due to Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam overflowing, Narmada water has been released in 10 different rivers of the state and these rivers have been brought back to life.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has carried forward the tradition of worshiping the water power of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam which has reached the full level of the Sardar Sarovar, which is the pillar of continuous progress of the state and the water source of Gujarat, for the second consecutive year.
