Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], Apr 24 (ANI): Dunia, a Bangladeshi mother, thanked the doctors and staff of Rainbow Hospital here on Wednesday when her baby, born in just 23 to 24 weeks of pregnancy, successfully crossed the 100-day mark.
"When Rainbow came to me I had no hope left, but they saved my baby. They proved that if you have trust and belief you can achieve anything. My kid came in just 24 weeks of my pregnancy and upon birth weighed just 480 grams but has now crossed 1600 grams in 100 days all thanks to the hospital," said Dunia.
Considering even developed countries avoid the risk of giving birth to children unless 25 weeks of pregnancy have passed, this is a remarkable feat by an Indian hospital.
Dr Shobhna from the Rainbow Hospital said: "We wanted to excel our own record, we were able to do that and we're very happy about it. At this point we're positive that we will ensure the baby's growth and make him lead a normal life." (ANI)
