Chidambaram should advise govt. instead of supporting decriers: NITI Aayog VC

New Delhi [India], November 8 (ANI): NITI Aayog VC Rajiv Kumar on Wednesday said former finance minister P. Chidambaram should advise the government on how to strenthen the economy, instead of supporting and praying for the decriers.

Speaking to ANI, Kumar said, "P. Chidambaram is praying for people whose black money was caught due to demonetisation. If such people are his friends, then I have nothing further to say. Chidambaram should instead advise the government on how to strenthen the economy."

Kumar added one needed to encourage such decisions for a cleaner, healthier economy.

"My belief has been strenghtened that demonetisation is the right step and one needs to encourage it so that the economy can move in the right direction and the society can change for better," Kumar concluded.

Earlier, on Wednesday morning, P. Chidambaram resorted to Twitter to criticise and attack the BJP Government over demonetisation. He urged people to say a prayer for the millions who suffered because of demonetisation and said the 'eliminated' black money will resurface once when the Gujarat election campaign starts.

"On demonetisation Black Day read real-life stories, say a prayer for the millions who suffered," Chidambaram tweeted.

"Black money eliminated says Govt. Let the Gujarat election campaign start and you will find the 'eliminated' black money," said another tweet.

The Indian National Congress observed 'black day' throughout the country to mark the anniversary of demonetisation. (ANI)
