Chhattisgarh: Pandaria MLA Bhawna Bohra completes 195-km Kanwar Yatra, says "blessed by Mother Narmada"

Kawardha (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 27 (ANI): As the Kanwar Yatra continues across the country, Pandaria MLA Bhawna Bohra led a 151-kilometre Kanwar Yatra from Amarkantak to the Bhoramdeo Temple, expressing gratitude for completing the challenging pilgrimage with the blessings of Mother Narmada and Lord Bholenath.
Speaking to ANI, Bohra said,"I have been devoted to Amarkantak from the start. For 3-4 years, we've organised free food for Kanwariyas there. My faith in Mother Narmada has endured. When I saw the Kanwariyas coming, I felt they had come from such a difficult path. I wish we had the chance to cross these mountains and offer water to Lord Bholenath. Suddenly, I tried with blessings, and I am very grateful that I had Mother Narmada's blessings."
He further added," The 195 km journey was long, with many paths like mountains and rivers. It was a blessing from God that everyone completed the journey safely and with a sense of fulfilment. Today, we have fulfilled our resolution."
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged Kanwar yatris to expose elements masquerading as hooligans who aim to defame the holy yatra and inform the administration immediately.
The Kanwar Yatra began on July 10. During the annual pilgrimage, Kanwariyas collect holy water from rivers and carry it over hundreds of kilometres to offer it at Lord Shiva temples. Devotees across the country observe fasts, perform rituals, and undertake the Yatra as a mark of devotion.
'Sawan' holds a special place in Hindu mythology. Devotees undertake fasts and offer prayers to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva during this period. The chanting of Shiva mantras, singing bhajans (devotional songs), and performing Rudrabhishek (ceremonial bathing of Shiva Lingam with holy substances) are common practices observed with fervour across households and temples during the 'Sawan' month.
This year, Sawan month commences from July 11 and will conclude on August 9. (ANI)
