Chhattisgarh: Naxals kill villager in Narayanpur district on suspicion of being "police informer"

A man was allegedly killed by Naxalites on suspicion of being a police informer in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, police said on Sunday.

Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 23 (ANI): A man was allegedly killed by Naxalites on suspicion of being a police informer in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, police said on Sunday.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Narayanpur Hemsagar Sidar, the Naxals killed a village man after suspecting him to be a police informer in Village Rohtad of the Narayanpur district.  
The ASP further informed that the information about the incident was received by the police at the Chhotedongar police station limits in Narayanpur district.
"Information was received in Chhotedongar under district Narayanpur, that Naxals killed a person named Sukka Singh Kachalam in village Rohtad yesterday late night. In this regard, the police verified the information, and after the verification, it was verified that Sukka Singh Kachalam was killed by Naxalites after they took him to Rohtad forest late at night," said the ASP.
The Official further said that in this matter, a pamphlet issued by the Naxals of Amdai Area Committee of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) was also recovered near the incident site in which the Naxals accused Sukka Singh of acting as an agent to send the villagers out and alleged him of being a police informant.
The Official also said that the post-mortem proceedings of the deceased have been completed and a case has been registered against the Naxals in the Chhotedongar police station.
ASP stated, "The post-mortem of the deceased have been completed and a case has been registered against the Naxals in the Chhotedongar police station under various sections of the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act."
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two Naxal cadres, including a woman, in connection with an encounter that took place in 2019 near Tiriya village in Chhattisgarh claiming the lives of six Naxals and one civilian, the agency said on Saturday.
The arrested accused, identified as Kandula Sirisha alias Sirisha alias Padmakka and Duddu Prabhakar alias Duddu alias Ajay were working for different frontal organisations of CPI (Maoist) or Naxal, said the NIA.
The duo were arrested on Friday after extensive investigations and search operations, taking the total number of arrests in the Tiriya encounter case (also known as the RK Dairy case) to six. (ANI)
