Chhattisgarh: CRPF's Convention Festival concludes

Chhattisgarh: CRPF's Convention Festival concludes

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Jan 22 (ANI): The Convention Festival organised by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 229 battalion in Naxalite dominated Awapalli in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur District has concluded.

Around 3,000 children and tribal people took part in the huge rally on Sunday, which reflected their strong desire to enter into the mainstream.

A total of 30 teams participated in the Mahakumbh of Kabaddi, while four teams of women also participated in the festival.

The final match of the tournament was played between Gangaloor and Pinconda.

In the 30-minute title, Pinconda team defeated Gangaloor's team by 13 points and was awarded Rs 31,000 in cash besides a trophy. While the runner-up of Gangaloor's team received Rs 21,000 in cash and a trophy.

Under this, people are given information about how a good life can be led by overcoming the path of violence.

The four-day event in the worst-hit areas of Naxal controlled areas by CRPF is considered to be the first ever such bold initiative by any authority.

Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) CRPF, D.N.Lal , District collector Dr Ayaz Tamboli and district Superintendent of police (SP) Ahir CRPF commandants Viswanath and M. Mohan and other CRPF officers and Civil administration officials joined the four-day long celebrations. (ANI)
