Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh) [India], January 30 (ANI): Chattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met and interacted with personnel of Indo Tibetan Border Police at Narayanpur district on Friday.
During his visit to Narayanpur, the state Chief Minister inaugurated development projects worth Rs 351 crore.
The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister further mentioned that President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate this year's Bastar Pandum at the divisional level. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the festival's closing ceremony.
"Today, on this sacred land of Narayanpur, development projects worth Rs 351 crore have been inaugurated and their foundation stones laid... Many congratulations and best wishes to all district residents on this. The Bastar Pandum festival was also organised... The government wants to preserve the culture, civilisation, dance, and music of our tribal community. This festival has been organised since last year. President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Bastar Pandum at the divisional level, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the closing ceremony. The Bastar Olympics were also organised. The people of this region are continuously joining the mainstream of development... Today, the 24th instalment of the Mahtari Vandana Yojana has been released..." CM Vishnu Deo Sai told reporters.
Earlier on April 24, 2025, in a significant move against Naxal insurgency, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Chhattisgarh Police (CGP) successfully established a Company Operating Base (COB) at Nelangur, strategically located on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border.
The newly set-up base marks a critical step in asserting dominance over the remote and previously inaccessible Abujhmad region, known to be a Naxal stronghold. Despite challenging terrain and operational difficulties, the security forces have managed to secure the area, dealing a major blow to the Naxal network.
Authorities believe the establishment of this COB will enhance surveillance and operational capabilities in the region, paving the way for increased development and improved security.
This achievement is considered a much-awaited gateway for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to reach the Maharashtra borders in the Abujhmad region in the anti-Left Wing Extremism (LWE) or Naxal operations. (ANI)
