Chhattisgarh CM meets PM Modi, discusses Vision Document and anti-Maoist operations

New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House on Tuesday to congratulate him on his third term as Prime Minister of the country.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister about 'Amritkaal: Chhattisgarh Vision 2047', a 'Vision Document' being prepared by the State NITI Aayog, which will be dedicated to the people of the state on November 1.
Chief Minister Sai also apprised the Prime Minister on recent anti-Maoist operations over the past six months and said that a joint action plan is being prepared and action is being taken to eradicate the Maoist problem.
Giving information about the Niyad Nellanar Yojana (Your Ideal Village), the Chief Minister said that under the scheme, work is being done to weaken the base of Naxalites and restore mutual trust between the government administration and the villagers. Currently, 23 camps covering 90 villages are operational, with plans to start 29 camps in the future.
Regarding the fulfilment of Prime Minister Modi's assurances, the Chief Minister mentioned that the Council of Ministers had swiftly approved the construction of houses for 18,12,743 families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) during their first meeting after forming the new government. Currently, construction is underway for 1,06,777 approved houses.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted that Rs 3,667 crore has been disbursed to farmers for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 periods under the Paddy Production Incentive Scheme. Additionally, through the Krishak Unnati Yojana, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred Rs 13,287 crore directly to the bank accounts of 24.73 lakh farmers.
He also mentioned the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, aimed at promoting economic self-reliance and empowerment of women in the state. So far, the scheme has provided financial assistance totalling Rs 2,618 crore to 70 lakh women over four months.
Informing the Prime Minister about the Shri Ram Lala Darshan Scheme, Sai said that an MOU has been signed with the IRCTC for the scheme under which over 20 thousand beneficiaries from the state will be taken on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya every year. (ANI)
