Chhattisgarh: 1 child killed, over 30 injured after bus overturns in Bilaspur

According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Bilaspur, Rajnish Singh, "A bus full of passengers overturned in Bilaspur. The incident took place on the Lalkhadan Over Bridge in Torwa police station area. More than 50 passengers were travelling in the bus."

Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 30 (ANI): A child died while over 30 others were injured after a passenger bus overturned in Bilaspur due to the driver's negligence, said a police official on Sunday.
According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Bilaspur, Rajnish Singh, "A bus carrying more than 50 passengers overturned in Bilaspur. The incident took place on the Lalkhadan Over Bridge in Torwa police station area."
"A child was reported dead in the incident and more than 30 people were seriously injured. The injured were sent to the hospital with the help of people for treatment," said the official, adding that the vehicle overturned due to the driver's negligence.
"The administration has ensured that the injured are given better treatment," he said.
The police registered a case and further investigation is underway.
In a post on X, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, "Received the sad news of the death of a girl and injuries to 30-35 passengers after a bus overturned near Bilaspur. The injured have been admitted to the SIMS and district hospital."
"The collector has been instructed to make proper arrangements for the injured persons. I pray to God for the peace of the soul of the deceased girl and the speedy recovery of the injured," he further said. (ANI)
