New Delhi [India], November 7 (ANI): Chief Minister Atishi on Thursday extended her greetings on the occasion of Chhath Puja, stating that the Delhi government has built ghats across the capital to ensure Purvanchali residents feel connected to their roots.
CM Atishi also offered prayers to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar, seeking prosperity and good health for all Delhi residents.
"I extend my best wishes to all Purvanchali brothers and sisters, as well as all residents of Delhi, on Chhath Puja. Today, the festival of Chhath is being celebrated with great fervour in Delhi. The Delhi government has constructed Chhath Ghats in every part of the city," CM Atishi said.
"I have offered prayers to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar for the prosperity and well-being of everyone in Delhi. The Delhi government has built these Chhath Ghats across the city so that our Purvanchali brothers and sisters never feel distant from their homes," she added.
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Bansuri Swaraj performed the Sandhya Arghya ritual, offering prayers to Lord Surya on the third day of Chhath Puja.

Speaking to ANI, Bansuri Swaraj extended her greetings, wishing happiness, peace, and prosperity for all.
"Heartfelt greetings to all on the occasion of Chhath. May the blessings of Chhathi Maiya be upon you all, filling your lives with happiness, peace, and prosperity," Swaraj said.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also observed Chhath Puja rituals with his family at his residence in Delhi.

Today marks the third day of Chhath, when Sandhya Puja is performed, a ritual dedicated to the setting sun. Families gather near water bodies at sunset, offering fruits, sweets, and thekua as prasad to Lord Surya, accompanied by hymns and prayers to Chhathi Maiya.
The Chhath Puja festival commenced with Nahay-Khay on the Chaturthi Tithi of Kartik Shukla Paksha, a day of purification and preparation, followed by Kharna on Panchami Tithi, Chhath Puja on Sashti, and will conclude with Usha Arghya on Saptami Tithi. The celebrations will end on November 8.
Chhath Puja spans four days, involving strict rituals and fasting to express gratitude to the Sun God for sustaining life on Earth.
The festival is primarily celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Nepal, as well as by the diaspora from these regions. (ANI)
