Chennai: Man held with six gold bars worth Rs 21.3 lakh

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Thursday said she has filed a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW) against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over alleged derogatory remarks made during a function held on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Speaking with ANI, he noted that the international community currently lacks respected voices capable of exerting the moral and critical pressure necessary to move toward peace, stressing that countries like India, with moral authority, should push for a ceasefire and dialogue.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) MLA Kadakampally Surendran on Thursday refuted claims of the complaint made by Unnikrishnan Potti, Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple gold theft case prime accused, stating Surendran conspired with a woman to file a complaint before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). He said that the complaint is a result of a conspiracy running against him in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.

India, as an Associate Member of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and an active participant in international energy cooperation, welcomed the IEA's decision to release emergency oil stocks amid the prevailing supply disruptions, according to an official release.

In a letter addressed to NCW Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa urged the commission to take immediate cognizance of the matter and initiate action against the Chief Minister.
