Chennai: 17 injured after under-construction building collapses

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 21(ANI): At least 17 people have been injured and several feared trapped after a portion of an under-construction building collapsed in Kandanchavadi area here on Saturday.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 21(ANI): At least 17 people have been injured and several feared trapped after a portion of an under-construction building collapsed in Kandanchavadi area here on Saturday.
As per reports, the scaffold and iron girders of a half-constructed hospital collapsed, leaving 17 injured.
After reports of the mishap surfaced, 8 ambulances and 3 fire tenders were pressed into action.
Chennai Collector Ponnaiyan said out of the 20 people who were at the spot, 17 have been rescued out of which five have been admitted to a nearby hospital with head injuries.
The rescue operation is underway.
