Chandigarh: Directorate General of Resettlement holds job fair for ex-servicemen

As per the release, the event received an overwhelming response from the ex-servicemen from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. As many as 22 companies participated in the job fair and offered a total of 800 vacancies.

Chandigarh [India], December 13 (ANI): The Directorate General of Resettlement, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, and the Ministry of Defence held an employment job fair on Wednesday to bring together ex-servicemen seeking re-employment and employment providers in Chandigarh.
According to an official press release, "The employment seminar Job Fair was held at 3 BRD, Air Force Station, Chandigarh to bring ex-servicemen seeking re-employment and employment providers on a single platform."
As per the release, the event received an overwhelming response from the ex-servicemen from Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. As many as 22 companies participated in the job fair and offered a total of 800 vacancies.
"Nearly 970 ex-servicemen from the Army, Air Force and Navy registered to seek employment. Six more job fairs are scheduled across India in the coming months," read the release.
The ESM interviewed or screened would be gainfully employed in appointments ranging from senior supervisors, mid- and senior-level managers, strategic planners and project directors.
The event was beneficial for both corporations and veterans, while the veterans got a platform to showcase their technical and administrative prowess acquired during their years in service and the corporations benefitted by screening the group of experienced, disciplined and trained ex-servicemen.
Entrepreneurship models were also presented by various companies during the job fair.
The job fair was inaugurated by Air Marshal P . Ghosh, DG (Adm), Air HQ, who was the chief guest of the event.
Brig. V K Jha, ADG, DRZ (West) and Air Commodore Rajeev Srivastava, AOC, 3 BRD Air Force Station, Chandigarh, were also present. (ANI)
