C'garh polls: 58.47% voter turnout recorded till 4 pm

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Nov 20 (ANI): Voter turnout of 58.47 per cent was recorded till 4 pm in the ongoing second phase of Assembly Elections in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Nov 20 (ANI): Voter turnout of 58.47 per cent was recorded till 4 pm in the ongoing second phase of Assembly Elections in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
According to the Election Commission, 19,336 polling stations were set up in the 2nd phase of the Chhattisgarh polls. A total of 25,640 Ballot Units were used along with 19,336 Control Units and 19,336 VVPATs. Only 47 Ballot Units, 37 Control Units, and 131 VVPATs needed replacement during the polls.
The replacements were handled swiftly by the local polling personnel thanks to the availability of sufficient reserves, the EC said.
The polling is taking place in 72 constituencies spread over 19 districts. The voting, which commenced at 8 am, is scheduled to end at 5 pm.
As many as 19,300 polling booths have been set up for the second phase of polling. 1,079 candidates including 119 women are in the fray. More than 1,54,00,000 voters are eligible to exercise their voting right in the poll.
Results of the assembly polls will be announced on December 11.(ANI)
