Manoj Jha slams Centre on Tuesday

New Delhi (India), Dec 4 (ANI): After the extradition of Christian Michel James, alleged middleman in Rs 3,600 crore AgustaWestland chopper scam from the UAE, the opposition parties on Tuesday asked the Central government to bring Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksi and Lalit Modi back to India to face the law of the land.
Rajya Sabha MP and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Manoj Jha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government at the Centre must also try to extradite its "poster boys like Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi, and Mehul Choksi."
"Those who under the patronage of the Central government fled the country and are its poster boys like Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi and Mehul Choksi must also be brought back," said Jha, adding that those who have run away from the country with the people's money must "face the law of the land in India."
Christian Michel, a British national, is being extradited to India from the UAE. Michel is wanted in India in connection with AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam. He is likely to arrive in India on Tuesday night.
Talking about Christian Michel, Jha said that he was allegedly pressurised by the Central government to take the name of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and other members of Gandhi family. "We are also waiting for the layers of Rafale deal to unfold one by one," said Jha.
Tariq Anwar of the Congress party said that the extradition of Michel by the UAE is a positive step and Indian government must take action against all these people. "Now, Indian government must strive to take strict action against all others who are taking shelter in other countries after looting the country," said Anwar. (ANI)
