Central Board of Secondary Education

New Delhi [India], June 29 (ANI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday has initiated action against 130 teachers and coordinators across the country.
As per reports, this step has been taken following complaints by the students of errors in marking the Class 12 board exam answer sheets. There has been a huge difference in marks after re-evaluation of the papers.
CBSE issued an official statement regarding the same: “This year CBSE had introduced paired evaluation aimed at optimising accuracy in results. However, callousness on the part of a few examiners has caused undue hardships for students. CBSE has been compelled to take strict action against the erring examiners for demonstrating a casual and insensitive approach towards the students and also impacting the image of the board. Based on the information, regional officers have been asked to write to schools to initiate suspension and report to the board.”
Patna has the highest number of erring teachers and coordinators, where 45 of them were considered responsible for totalling marks of the answer scripts. Meanwhile, actions are also initiated against 27 teachers in Dehradun for wrong evaluation.
Ajmer has the highest number of cases of marks being increased after re-evaluation, followed by Allahabad and Delhi.
More teachers could face actions.
CBSE Class 12 result for the academic year of 2017-18 was announced on May 26.
Originally scheduled between March 3 and April 13, the exams for class 12 were extended to April 27, when a re-examination had to be conducted subsequent to the economic paper leakage. (ANI)
