CBI files case against two public servants for causing loss to IITM

Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha received a notice by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor scam case.

A representation has been moved before the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court seeking transfer of a criminal revision petition linked to the excise policy case from the bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma to another appropriate bench.

YSRCP has demanded a thorough investigation by a Central agency into the theft in the Parakamani case, as there are efforts to hush up the case.

This comes after earlier on Monday, Vijay had sought a 15-day extension for his questioning and arranged it in Chennai or some nearby place.

According to the ED, the remarks were recorded "behind the back" of the agency and violate the principles of natural justice.

Actor Vijay, president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on Monday requested a 15-day extension for his questioning in the Karur stampede case and asked if the CBI could conduct the questioning in Chennai or nearby, according to the sources.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has approached the Delhi High Court seeking the expunging of several adverse observations made against it in the trial court's order dated February 27, 2026, by which 23 accused persons were discharged in the CBI's Delhi Excise Policy case.

Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma passed the directions while hearing an appeal filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) challenging the discharge order. The court also issued notice to the other side, as none appeared on behalf of the 23 respondents, involving Aam Aadmi Party senior leaders, including former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CMr Manish Sisodia, during the hearing.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, while speaking to ANI, said, "...The High Court has clearly put a stay, and the trial court's order will not have any impact on the ED's investigation; it will continue with its investigation.
