Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 12 (ANI): CISF Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad has filed a case against a spice jet female crew member after she allegedly slapped him at the airport. The female crew member has also filed a case against the ASI. The Assistant Commissioner of Police of Malviya Nagar Aditya Poonia said that cases had been filed by both parties on the matter.
According to the report provided by ASI Prasad, the crew member reached the airport at 4 in the morning. During this time, he was also on duty at the airport. He said that the crew member tried to enter without going through a security check and over this, he stopped her, asking her to undergo screening.
The crew member cited the absence of female staff and refused to be screened. When she cited the absence of female staff, Giriraj contacted the airport control, asking to call for female staff by sending a message on his wireless.
Meanwhile, the crew member got angry and started arguing and even before the female staff could reach her, the crew member slapped him.
"Yesterday, we received information that a woman employee of a SpiceJet employee assaulted ASI Giriraj Prasad at Jaipur airport. The complainant said that while he was performing his duty at the airport's vehicle gate, SpiceJet crew members came there with food trucks and other logistics... There was no woman officer posted on that shift, due to which the ASI asked the women crew to wait till the arrival of another woman officer... We have also checked CCTV, arrested the woman and produced her in court. Yesterday evening, she also filed a case of misbehaviour against ASI Giriraj Prasad," said DCP Poonia.
On the other hand, Spice Jet's statement has also come in this matter, stating that the ASI used abusive language with the female staff and asked her to meet him at his home after duty.
"Today, an unfortunate incident occurred at Jaipur Airport involving a SpiceJet female security staff member and a male CISF personnel. While escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate, our female security staff member, who had a valid airport entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India's civil aviation security regulator, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him after his duty hours at his home. SpiceJet is taking immediate legal action in this serious case of sexual harassment against its female employee and has approached the local police. We stand firmly by our employee and are committed to providing her with full support," said a SpiceJet spokesperson.
On Thursday evening, the SpiceJet employee also filed a case of misbehaviour against ASI. the Malviya Nagar Police are now investigating the matter. (ANI)
