Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 17 (ANI): BJP leader NV Subhash took a jibe at Congress leader Pawan Khera amid no consensus over seat-sharing in Mahagathbandhan ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls.
Subhash questioned the alliance's ability to garner votes in the elections if the parties cannot reach a timely consensus over their seat-sharing arrangement.
He said, "They cannot even sit and talk in Mahagathbandhan. But Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has been attacking the BJP. If the Congress party or the INDI Alliance cannot form an alliance or sit together to discuss the Mahagathbandhan and reach a conclusion, how can they then go and ask for votes? No one knows who will be contesting from which constituency, whether it is from Congress or another party in their alliance. This is the fate of the Congress party."
Expressing confidence in the NDA's victory in the elections, he said that the INDIA bloc will have no significant impact on the polls.
"In Bihar, people are eager to vote for the NDA so that a stable and developmental government can be formed. We are confident that the INDI Alliance will have no significant impact on the Bihar assembly elections, and we believe that the NDA government will be re-elected in Bihar with a thumping majority," he said.
This comes after Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday asked why the National Democratic Alliance is raising questions on the issue.
Khera informed that candidates are filing their nominations and the procedure for seat distribution is underway. He affirmed clearance on the situation and mentioned that the Mahagathbandhan government will be formed in Bihar.
"The work is going on very well, symbols are being distributed. Those who have to file nominations are also doing so. The process has started... Very soon, the entire situation will be clear to everyone. The Mahagathbandhan government is going to be formed. Why is the NDA raising questions? They should think about themselves," Khera told ANI.
While October 17 is the last date for filing nominations for the first phase of the elections, the Mahagathbandhan, led by Congress and RJD, is yet to announce its seat distribution arrangement.
Meanwhile, in the NDA, the BJP and Janata Dal (United) are set to contest 101 constituencies each. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) have been allotted six seats each, while Union Minister Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest on 29 seats.
The BJP has also announced its candidates for all 101 allotted seats.
Polling for the Bihar elections 2025 will take place on November 6 and 11. The results will be announced on November 14. (ANI)
