Jeetu Fauji speaking cries foul as he is being transferred to judicial custody

Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Dec 09 (ANI): Jitendra Malik, alias Jeetu Fauji, the army personnel accused in the killing of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, on Sunday pleaded his innocence in the matter and said he has been framed.
Speaking to the media while being sent to judicial custody, Jeetu said, "I have done no such thing (kill the Inspector), I haven't shot anyone. I was present there, they are saying that I am an absconder, which is not true. I am no militant or Naxalite, I am being framed".
Jeetu, who was arrested late on Saturday by the 22 Rashtriya Rifles in Sopore town in Jammu and Kashmir and was handed over to the Uttar Pradesh police, was earlier today sentenced to 14 days in judicial custody.
Crying foul over his arrest, his father-in-law, Jaibhagwan accused the police of framing him. "Police is framing him. He is not involved in this case and is completely innocent," Jaibhagwan said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhishek Singh of Special Task Force in Meerut had earlier said that while Jeetu had accepted his presence when the crowds started gathering, it has not yet been established whether he was the one who shot the Inspector or Sumit, the civilian who also lost his life during the violence.
On December 3, clashes erupted in Bulandshahr after cattle carcasses were found in a field, which led to an agitation by locals, who demanded the closure of all illegal animal slaughterhouses. In the protests that ensued, Inspector Subodh and Sumit were killed. (ANI)
