Palanadu (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 18 (ANI): The brutal murder of a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party's member (YSRCP) Rashid by a member of the ruling Telugu Desan Party (TDP), Jialanin, has stirred a war of words between the YSCRP and the TDP
Former Andhra Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy hit out at the ruling TDP alleging that the state was under demonic law.
"Andhra Pradesh is under demonic rule. Law and order is nowhere to be seen. People's lives are at risk and these atrocities are being committed to suppress the YSRCP. Within a month and a half of the new government taking office, Andhra Pradesh has become synonymous with murder, rape, political vendetta, and destruction. Yesterday's heinous murder in Vinukonda is an example of this," he said on X.
"The Andhra Pradesh CM and other responsible officials are promoting such atrocities with clear political malice. As a result, criminals and murderers are running amok. There is a need for a special investigation by central government agencies into the violent incidents that have occurred since the new government took office. I appeal to Prime Minister and Home Minister Amit Shah to focus on the deteriorating law and order situation in our state. I express my deepest condolences to the family of Rasheed, who was hacked to death by those associated with the TDP in Vinukonda," he further posted on X.
Nara Lokesh minister in the TDP government accused the YSRCP Chief of making false allegations and said his government was accountable to the people.
"YS Jagan's talk about violence, destruction, anarchy, injustice, illegality and corruption is making people cry. It has been more than a month since those dark days in the state when the government committed terrorism by blaming the victims. The coalition government is also removing the remaining vestiges of anarchy. Jagan, who lost his existence ...is trying to stand again on false foundations with his patented fake campaigns," he posted on X.
"Your hypocritical plays of committing crimes...and pushing them back on someone else are over. We are committed to protecting people. No incident is ignored, and no accused is left out. It is not possible to sit in Bangalore's Yalahanka Palace and carry out conspiracies here. This is not a government that fears your warnings...this is a public government that is accountable to the people and their lives," Nara Lokesh further added.
Meanwhile, the state police have claimed that the murder of the YSRCP cadre was a result of a long-standing feud between the two men and had no political connection. Palanadu District Superintendent of Police Kanche Srinivas Rao said that the incident was being investigated.
"The murder occurred due to personal issues and no political involvement has been reported behind the murder. The investigation of the case is ongoing, and we are also investigating the accused for more information. Those involved in such activities will face severe punishment," he said.
To prevent any further violence in the town, prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been imposed in Vinukonda and the accused has been taken into custody. SP Rao has warned of serious action if anyone resorts to any violation of law and order in the town. (ANI)
