Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 28 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kavitha on Monday urged the central government to "call for a ceasefire" in Operation Kagar in Chhattisgarh and find a "political solution" to Naxalism by inviting Naxalites for talks, stressing that the issue should be addressed through dialogue, not force.
Speaking to ANI, Kavitha said, "Operation Kagar is being carried out in Chhattisgarh and our party, and we firmly believe that the ideology of Naxalism should be eradicated only through dialogue and not by the use of force... India must find a political solution to Naxalism."
"I believe the central government should immediately call for a ceasefire, invite the Naxalites for talks, and I am very confident that every party in this country will support this cause," she added.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Chhattisgarh District Reserve Guard recovered several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other Naxalite-related materials from the forests of Salhebhat.
SP Dhamtari Suraj Singh Parihar said that several pipe bombs, cooker bombs, tiffin bombs, and other IEDs were recovered from the forest area under the Khallari police station limits in Mahasamund district.
On Saturday, two security personnel sustained minor injuries in separate incidents involving IED blasts in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
The first incident occurred on the night of April 24, when an STF (Special Task Force) jawan suffered a sprain to his ankle due to the impact of an IED explosion. A second blast took place on April 26, in which a DRG (District Reserve Guard) jawan sustained minor injuries.
Police officials stated that both jawans are in stable condition and are receiving medical treatment. They are expected to recover quickly and return to active duty soon. (ANI)
