Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 2 (ANI): BRS working president KT Rama Rao slammed Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday for "limiting" the government's Telangana Formation Day celebration to just one day.
Rao said the chief minister is a person who lacks the minimum understanding of the Telangana movement and the aspirations of the Telangana people.
The Congress government has planned a day-long celebration on Sunday, and the main opposition, BRS, has planned its programs for three days starting June 1. The government has also invited Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi as a chief guest for the celebration.
"Revanth Reddy is a person who lacks the minimum understanding of the Telangana movement and the aspirations of the Telangana people. The Chief Minister must be a fool for limiting the Telangana Formation Day celebrations to just one day," KTR said in a statement.
He said that if the BRS was in power, it would have conducted a month-long celebration. KTR alleged that the Chief Minister could not say "Jai Telangana" even on Telangana Formation Day.
"Revanth Reddy could not say "Jai Telangana" even in his congratulatory message today," KTR said.
He also remarked that Revanth Reddy is a "jackpot chief minister" who knows nothing about the sacrifices and movements of the Telangana people, which is why he is conducting the Telangana Formation Day celebrations "nominally".
On the occasion of the state completing ten years since its formation, KTR conveyed wishes on behalf of his party and the 6 million BRS party workers to all the people of Telangana. He paid tributes to the martyrs who made numerous sacrifices, including giving up their lives for the attainment of Telangana state.
KTR mentioned that in 2001, KCR created a new revolution with the second phase of the movement, turned the course of history, and established the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party to fulfill the aspirations of the Telangana people. He said that the sacrifices made for the state bore fruit, and in a decade, the separate Telangana state has achieved remarkable progress. "Telangana practices, the nation follows" has become an ideal for the country.
KTR extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been with KCR for the past 24 years. He conveyed special wishes to the employees, teachers, students, lawyers, journalists, and youth who supported the movement.
He expressed heartfelt congratulations to all sections of society and wished for Telangana to continue to develop and stand as a model for the nation amid the grand celebrations of the decade festival. KTR hoisted the national flag along with the party flag in the presence of party senior leadership at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. (ANI)
