Delhi [India], November 4 (ANI): Parmarth Niketan Ashram President, Swami Chidanand Saraswati urged Indians residing outside the nation not to forget their 'matrubhumi' as he responded over the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Canada.
Saraswati also held "polluted mindset" responsible for such attacks.
Notably, a violent group of men, carrying flags of pro-Khalistani groups had attacked a Hindu Sabha Mandir on Gore Road in Canada's Brampton on Sunday.
"I think, this is all an issue of mindset. If the mindset is getting polluted, the individual launches attack - be it a terror attack, financial terror attack or ideological terror attack...PM gave a slogan - One Earth, One Family, One Future. Why did he give that slogan? At that time too, people were setting a narrative and turned negative...," said Swami Chidanand Saraswati.
"But PM told everyone to not fight and tell everyone that we are one. But when such an attack is launched on a foreign land, I would like to tell those residing outside that do not forget your own land. Do not forget your 'matrubhumi'...Today, we have to erase such (violent) thoughts. India has never attacked anybody...Let's take the world forward. Let's set aside the mindset of breaking and getting broken. India's culture is that of connecting everyone, connect to that culture. There should not be an attack anywhere because who dies in these attacks? Our own people. So, such mindset should be abandoned...," he added.
India strongly condemned the violent disruption at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where an Indian consular camp was attacked on Sunday.
An Indian consular camp at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Canada's Brampton witnessed a "violent disruption" on Sunday (local time) in Brampton, near Toronto.
In response to media queries regarding violence in Brampton, Canada, the Official Spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal said, "We condemn the acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario yesterday."
"We call on the Government of Canada to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks. We also expect that those indulging in violence will be prosecuted. We remain deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada," the statement added.
According to MEA, "The outreach of our Consular officers to provide services to Indians and Canadian citizens alike will not be deterred by intimidation, harassment and violence."
The incident sparked widespread criticism in and outside Canada. Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poilievre condemned the attack on the Hindu Sabha temple, calling it "completely unacceptable."
Canadian Member of Parliament Chandra Arya also condemned the attack on the temple and said that a "red line has been crossed" by Khalistani extremists, highlighting the rise of brazen violent extremism in Canada. (ANI)
