New Delhi [India], October 21 (ANI): Farmer leader and national spokesperson of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Tikait visited the residence of AAP MP Sanjay Singh, met his family members, and extended his indirect support to the jailed MP.
After meeting his family, Tikait said, "Sanjay Singh speaks for society. Today, his family is in trouble as he is in jail. So, I went to meet his family and told them not to worry."
"Whoever faces injustice, we stand by them," Tikait told reporters.
AAP said that the entire country stands unitedly against the arrest of Sanjay Singh.
"Senior BKU leader Rakesh Tikait met AAP MP Sanjay Singh's family, who was arrested in fake case by Modi government for raising voice against Adani corruption. The entire country is united against the arrest of AAP leader Sanjay Singh", Aam Aadmi party posted on X.
The Aam Aadmi Party has been protesting across the country against the arrest of AAP leader Sanjay Singh. Earlier, AAP workers staged a massive protest outside the AAP office demanding the release of Sanjay Singh.
"There has been no evidence against Sanjay Singh, but only because he is a big leader of the Opposition and speaks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is reason why he has been arrested. The protests will continue until Sanjay Singh is released", said AAP spokesperson Reena Gupta.
Delhi Court dismissed Sanjay Singh's plea over his arrest in the Delhi Liquor policy case.
Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Friday moved the Delhi High Court challenging his arrest in the Delhi Liquor scam case and has also challenged the remand granted by the trial court. Sanjay Singh, MP, was arrested by ED on October 4 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam.
The Delhi liquor scam case or the excise policy case pertains to allegations that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 allowed cartelisation and favoured certain dealers who had allegedly paid bribes for it, a charge that has been strongly refuted by the AAP. (ANI)
