BJP's vindictive politics knows no bounds: MK Stalin on Sanjay Singh's arrest

"The Union BJP Government's vindictive politics knows no bounds! Arresting AAP MP Sanjay Singh and raiding DMK MP Jagathrakshakan's home are clear examples of their misuse of independent investigating agencies for political ends against INDIA bloc leaders," Stalin said in a post on 'X' on Thursday.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], October 5 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled central government over the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh saying that "their vindictive politics knows no bounds".
"This deliberate persecution of opposition leaders is an assault on democracy," the Chief Minister added.
Reminding the BJP of the Supreme Court's warning to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Stalin said, "The BJP conveniently forgets that the Supreme Court has just warned the ED to be transparent and fair. But it seems they are hell-bent on disregarding the rule of law and democracy."
The Chief Minister further stated that the BJP is resorting to such tactics because it is "afraid" of the unity among the opposition INDIA bloc parties.
"The BJP is clearly afraid of the growing unity among opposition parties. It's time they stop their witch-hunt and focus on addressing the real issues," the Tamil Nadu chief minister said.
The ED on Wednesday arrested AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the now-scrapped liquor policy case. His was the second high-profile arrest in the case after former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia.
The arrest came hours after the ED conducted raids at the residence of the Singh in connection with the case. (ANI)
