New Delhi [India], November 1 (ANI): Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj held a press conference on Friday regarding October 31 firing incident in Delhi's Farsh Bazar, in which he criticized the BJP-led central government. He attributed the unruly law and orders in Delhi causes such incidents in Delhi.
The firing incident in Shahdara resulted in the deaths of two people, including a minor, and left one severely injured. Police have indicated that the incident appears to stem from personal enmity between the deceased and the assailant.
During the press conference, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that law and order in Delhi is worsening, and the BJP-led central government is failing to handle the situation. He further remarked that due to the deteriorating security conditions, what should have been a joyful Diwali turned into a night of mourning for a family in Shahdara.
Saurabh Bharadwaj also criticized the BJP-led central government for its frequent interference in Delhi's governance, suggesting that if the government focused its efforts on improving law and order, incidents of murders, gang wars, and robberies would not be so prevalent in the city.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shahdara, Prashant Gautam in a breifing said that the juvenile detained earlier in the day, is the mastermind behind the case. It appears that there was a dispute between the juvenile and deceased Akash over Rs 70,000.
"The juvenile is the mastermind behind the case. In this incident, Akash, Rishabh and Krish were shot. Akash and Rishabh have died. In this case, one juvenile has been apprehended. Prima facie it appears that there was a dispute between the juvenile and deceased Akash over Rs 70,000. There is a record of previous criminal involvement with a charge of attempt to murder against the juvenile. The accused were planning to target Akash for the past 15-17 days," he said.
Based on CCTV footage from the scene, the police detained a minor, and questioned him for hours.
The victims were identified as Akash (40) and his nephew Rishab (16), while Akash's son, Krish (10), sustained injuries.
The mother of the deceased, Akash, also recounted the events leading up to the firing in Delhi.
While speaking to the reporters, she said, "One man named Lakshay had been visiting our lane for the past three or four days. Yesterday, he came to our house with a box of sweets and urged me come downstairs to receive it personally. At the time when my son was preparing to burst firecrackers, two people including Lakshay came and then I heard shots being fired. Next, I saw that my son was shot..."
The DCP further noted that five rounds were fired during the incident. (ANI)
