Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], November 3 (ANI): BJP's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has condemned the grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Sunday as "unfortunate, tragic, and cowardly" and said that those responsible would be brought to justice.
"It is an unfortunate, tragic, and cowardly incident. These cowards will face stringent punishment. The culprits will not be spared. Those who hold weapons will either die or end up in jail," Chugh said.
Responding to a statement made by Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Farooq Abdullah on the Srinagar incident, Chugh criticized Abdullah, saying, "It is an unfortunate statement. He should not behave like the PRO of Pakistan. He should not give such irresponsible statements that demoralise our security forces..."
Terrorists attacked the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) and shoppers at the weekly market in Srinagar on Sunday afternoon by hurling a grenade, injuring at least 12 people injured.
Security forces immediately reached the scene, and the injured were shifted to the hospital.

Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Dr Bilal Mohidin visited the injured at Govt SHMS Hospital.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the grenade attack, saying that "there can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians."

Today's news of a grenade attack on innocent shoppers at the 'Sunday market' in Srinagar is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians," the CM said in a post on X.
CM Abdullah further said that the security apparatus must do everything possible to end this spurt of attacks. "The security apparatus must do everything possible to end this spurt of attacks at the earliest so that people can go about their lives without any fear," he added. (ANI)
