"BJP's stand has been that Maratha community should get reservations": Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule

"Mumbai is a fast-paced city, so keeping in mind that people should not face inconvenience and law and order should not be disturbed, whatever directions have been given, I believe action is being taken accordingly. From the beginning, the BJP's stand has been that the Maratha community should get reservations, and to make that possible, the Devendra Fadnavis government made serious efforts," Bawankule told reporters.

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], September 2 (ANI): Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday said the BJP's stand has been that the Maratha community should get reservations.
"As you all know, through EWS, a 10% reservation was also given... The Devendra Fadnavis government did everything possible to deliver justice to the Maratha community and to strengthen them. The Maratha community has been most empowered under the leadership of PM Modi, during the tenure of CM Fadnavis and CM Eknath Shinde government...," he further said.
Meanwhile, Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Tuesday ended his indefinite fast at Azad Maidan, in Mumbai, after accepting the Government Resolution (GR) presented by the Maharashtra cabinet sub-committee on Maratha quota, as he broke down in tears, calling it a "Diwali" for the community.

"Maratha vijay zala aj vijay zala, sukhi zala (Marathas have emerged victorious today and we are happy)", Jarange said as he was being carried from his protest stage to the ambulance.
Jarange said, "Today is Diwali for us, as we have got what we wanted."
Protesters performed Ganpati Aarti as a gesture of thanks to God; Jarange announced that after the Aarti, the protest would be formally over. (ANI)
