New Delhi [India], September 13 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Advocate Somnath Bharti welcomed the Supreme Court's order to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case on Friday and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) attempt to keep Kejriwal away from the election campaigning for the upcoming assembly polls has gone to waste.
Speaking to ANI, Bharti said that everyone hoped that Kejriwal would get bail in this case, as he already got bail in the matter of the ED. Bharti also thanked the Supreme Court for its decision.
"The details of the order are yet to be read properly. But what we heard is that Kejriwal was granted bail unanimously by the Judges' Bench... Everyone hoped for the same that this time around he would get bail, as he already got bail in the matter of the ED. I want to thank the Supreme Court for granting bail to Kejriwal," Bharti said.
He further said that following this judgement there would be another judgement to be given by the people of India, referring to the upcoming state assembly elections.
"So I think after this verdict, there will be another judgement in the court of the people of India where they will provide judgement on Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, as well as Delhi. So the BJP's every attempt to keep Kejriwal away from campaigning has gone to waste," he said.
Advocate and Vice-chairperson of the Delhi Bar Association Sanjeev Nasiar said that it was "a big day of relief" following the verdict by the apex court.

"The bail has been granted in the CBI case... It is a big day of relief. The CM was jailed for the last 5 months... Both judges have different views as far as the arrest is concerned. I will be able to comment on it once the order is out," he said.
Nasiar further stated that there were few routine conditions to be maintained by Kejriwal during this period, one of which is that he would not be able to make general comments related to the matter of the case or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as the matter is subjudice.
"There are some routine conditions... He would not be able to make any general comments on matters related to the CBI because the matter is subjudice... He has to remain present in the court whenever called. He would be able to campaign. We will soon see him in Delhi and then in Haryana," he added.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case registered by CBI in the alleged excise policy scam. The Supreme Court said prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty.
Earlier, the apex court had reserved the verdict for September 5 after hearing counsels representing Kejriwal and CBI. (ANI)
