"BJP wants to take control of Delhi through backdoor" AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj after President empowers LG Saxena

This comes after President Murmu delegated powers to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena to constitute and appoint members to any authority, board, commission, or statutory body under any law enacted by the Parliament that is applicable to the national capital, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

New Delhi [India], September 4 (ANI): After President Droupadi Murmu empowered Delhi LG VK Saxena to form, and appoint members to boards, and panels in the national capital, AAP leader and Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged on Wednesday that the BJP wants to take control of Delhi through the backdoor.
The AAP leader said that LG Saxena is acquiring more and more power but when it comes to his responsibility and accountability, he is not working.
"When it comes to his responsibility and accountability, LG Sahab is not working. Thousands of doctors have to be recruited. Posts have to be created in hospitals. Thousands of poor bus marshals have become unemployed. LG Sahab has stopped all this. And when it comes to acquiring powers, he is taking more and more powers. Why is he taking them? So that he can misuse the powers," the AAP leader told ANI.
Bhardwaj alleged that the central government wants the entire national capital to be run by the LG.
"He is hiring a social media company for Rs 1.5 crore annually to become famous through social media influencers. Powers of the elected government are being snatched away and powers are being given to appointed people," he said.
"As far as the central government is concerned, they want the entire Delhi to be run by the LG. Because the BJP is not able to win elections. Therefore, the BJP wants to take control of Delhi through the backdoor but that will not happen," the AAP leader added.
The gazette notification issued by the MHA on Tuesday said "In pursuance of clause (1) of article 239 of the Constitution read with section 45D of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (1 of 1992), the President hereby directs that the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall, subject to the control of the President and until further orders, exercise the powers of the President under clause (a) of section 45D of the said Act for constitution of any authority, board, commission or any statutory body by whatever name it may be called, or for appointment of any Government officer or ex officio member to such authority, board, commission or any statutory body."
