New Delhi [India], February 9 (ANI) : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, ecstatic over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) victory in the Delhi Assembly Election 2025, says he is proud to be part of the world's largest party.
He said, BJP won the Delhi Assembly elections after 27 years, securing 48 seats.
Speaking at the conference, CM Dhami said, "We should be proud that we are members of the world's largest party. Yesterday, the BJP won the Delhi Assembly elections. We got the honour of making the lotus bloom after 27 years..."
Similarly, BJP MP Anurag Thakur lauded his party's thumping win in the Delhi Assembly elections and expressed his gratitude to the people.
Thakur also assured that the party would work towards fulfilling all promises made to the people of Delhi and said that "BJP will make Delhi a developed Delhi."
The BJP leader further affirmed that huge development will be carried out in the national capital under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Earlier in the day, Atishi tendered her resignation as the Delhi Chief Minister, following her party's loss in the assembly elections.Following this, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has dissolved the Seventh Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from today.
Meanwhile, BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years. AAP won 22 seats while the Congress failed to win a single seat for the third time in a row.
The verdict came months after the BJP-led coalition swept the Maharashtra polls and the party won Haryana, consolidating its domination of national politics.
The Congress, which was hoping for a revival in the national capital, again failed to win any seat. The party, which ruled Delhi for 15 years from 1998, registered a hat-trick zero tally in the assembly polls.
The dissolution of the assembly paves the way for the formation of a new government in the national capital under the BJP's leadership. (ANI)
