BJP National President JP Nadda to visit Odisha; review party's membership drive, pay tribute to BR Ambedkar

Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister JP Nadda is set to visit Odisha on Thursday to review the ongoing membership drive of the party in the state.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], September 26 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister JP Nadda is set to visit Odisha on Thursday to review the ongoing membership drive of the party in the state.
Additionally, the national president is going to meet with senior party leaders, including MLAs, MPs, and the Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, to discuss the strategies for the membership drive in Odisha. Nadda is also going to pay tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue at AG Square before the meet.
State BJP Vice President Golak Mohapatra highlighted the itinerary planned for the event.
"JP Nadda is coming on an Odisha tour. He will be paying tribute to BR Ambedkar's statue at AG Square. He will address an intellectual meeting. He will then hold discussions on the membership drive with the party workers. His programme will be going on from the morning to the late afternoon. He will be discussing how to move forward with the membership drive, and regarding that, he will meet the party's leaders, MPs, MLAs of the region, and the Chief Minister too," he added.
State Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan also mentioned the upcoming program, highlighting that the BJP National President will be holding an intellectual meet and that the activities of the state unit will be reviewed. "There is a program of JP Nadda planned; he will be coming in the morning. He will pay tribute to the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at AG Square. After that, there will be an intellectual meeting, and then there will be a party meeting where the activities of the party will be reviewed," he said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the BJP State mega membership drive was going on in full swing with the BJP state President Manmoham Samal attending multiple booth level campaigns at Rairangpur district.
As part of the "A tree for mother", the state BJP president also planted a tree at the former school campus of the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
Highlighting the tree plantation in a post on X, it read, "State President Mr. @SamalManmohan7 today planted a tree under "A tree for mother" program in the High School campus of Her Excellency Draupadi Murmu's village in Rairangpur organizational district. Shri Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Minister of State for Forests, Environment and Climate Change and State Labor and Employees Insurance and other dignitaries were present on the occasion."
Moreover, on September 7, the Odisha Chief Minister attended the ongoing BJP membership drive at a booth at Barang under Banki Assembly Constituency in Cuttack.
On September 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP's 2024 membership drive by renewing his membership.
The new membership drive was launched with PM Modi getting the certificate for the renewal of his membership from BJP president JP Nadda at the 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024'. (ANI)
