New Delhi [India], July 11 (ANI): Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari on Thursday lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and alleged that the AAP leader is the kingpin in the Delhi liquor policy scam.
Speaking at a press conference held in the National Capital, the BJP MP from North East Delhi said that the money that was needed to be spent for the slum area was spent on the liquor scam by the Aam Aadmi Party. He further said that the AAP party looted public welfare money and asked him to resign based on his moral grounds.
"Money that was needed to be spent for the slum area was spent on the liquor scam by the AAP party... The AAP party looted public welfare money. Arvind Kejriwal used to say that if any allegations were made against me, I would resign from my post. Now, after the ED charge sheet, everything is clear so we hope on moral ground he will resign," he said.
Tiwari further said that Kejriwal is the kingpin in the liquor scam and he is also the 37th accused as per the charge sheet.
""There is no second opinion that Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin of this entire incident. Arvind Kejriwal seems to be the mastermind of this entire scam and now he has been made accused. Now in the charge sheet that has been filed, he is the 37th accused. And the most important thing is that the judge of the court after seeing all this, has said that there is sufficient evidence against him, on the basis of which further action should be taken against the culprit..." he said.
Speaking on the barrage of the Munak Canal in North Delhi that broke and water entered the residential areas, Tiwari said, "If anything won't be taken care of or proper maintenance would be done, we will get such news. However, what we can do at our level, we will do every thing possible from the centre's level. But the Delhi government should come forward and do something about it as the people are in trouble."
On Thursday, a sub-branch of the Munak Canal sustained a breach, in the Bawana region of North Delhi.Munak Canal, which is a part of the Western Yamuna Canal, got its Career Lined Channel (CLC) that runs into Bawana broke, leading to floods in nearby areas.
Taking to X, Delhi's Water Minister Atishi said, "Today early morning, there has been a breach in one of the sub-branches of Munak Canal. Delhi Jal Board is working in close coordination with the Haryana Irrigation Department, who maintain the Munak Canal. Water has been diverted to the other sub-branch of the canal. Repair work has already started and will be completed by this afternoon. The breached sub-branch of the canal will be functional from tomorrow." (ANI)
