BJP MLA Kalyan Singh passes away

A division bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Vikas Mahajan passed the order while hearing Suse's appeal against the August 1 order of the Patiala House Court, which had rejected his interim bail plea on medical grounds.

Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan reserved the order after hearing Senior Advocate V Raghavachari, appearing for Sethupathi, who led arguments on the application.

The interim order and dispute have triggered a broader political row as leaders from Congress and BJP also weighed in on the ongoing tensions.

The Chief Guest of the program flagged off the bike yatra from Varanasi to his birthplace, Vadnagar, organised at Rudraksh International Cooperation and Conference Centre, Sigra, on Thursday. The program was started by lighting the lamp by Naidu, Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan and garlanding the statues of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay.

The theme for World Patient Safety Day 2026 is “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases”, with the slogan “Safe care for life!”, highlighting the need for safe, coordinated and continuous care for people living with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).
