New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): The BJP Minority Morcha will launch a nationwide campaign under the leadership of its national president, Jamal Siddiqui, on the occasion of the 9th death anniversary of former President and Bharat Ratna recipient APJ Abdul Kalam on July 27.
The campaign will pay tribute to Kalam, an icon for the Pasmanda Muslims, through various programmes at the district level. Preparations for the campaign have begun, and a review meeting was held via video conferencing to discuss the preparations to reach out to the community.
Regarding the preparations for the campaign, BJP's National General Secretary and Minority Morcha in-charge Dushyant Gautam held a review meeting via video conferencing with National President Jamal Siddiqui, national office bearers, executive members, state presidents, and state general secretaries.
On this occasion, Jamal Siddiqui said that the purpose of the campaign is to salute Dr Kalam's contribution to India's development and pay tribute to him. Indian Muslims can reach the destination of success only by sitting in Kalam's boat. The BJP gives importance to all those who have helped strengthen the nation by rising above religion and caste.
Jamal Siddiqui said that the aim of the campaign is to salute Kalam's contribution to India's development and pay tribute to him. The campaign will begin with a bike rally from Kalam's house in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, to the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial on July 27, where a wreath will be laid on his statue.
BJP national president JP Nadda is likely to attend the event as a chief guest. Similar programmes will be held at the district level across the country, where wreaths will be laid on Kalam's statues or portraits.
The campaign will also feature a medical camp and a social media campaign, "Yuva Udhyami Award," which will select 5 individuals from each state. Nominations for the award will be accepted until August 6, and the results will be announced on August 12. A press conference will be held at all state and district BJP offices on July 26 at 11:30 am. (ANI)
