Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], September 17 (ANI): After the launch of "Subhadra Yojana" in Odisha by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, multiple BJP leaders in Odisha praised the flagship scheme of the Odisha government for providing financial assistance to over 1 crore women and recognising the contribution women have made in the development of society.
Bhartiya Janata Party MP, Aparajita Sarangi, praised the implementation of the scheme, she said, "PM Narendra Modi has shown that a woman, a homemaker, is very essential, and to ensure the overall development and security of women, the government will work well. Lakhs of women received Rs 5000 in their Direct Benefit Transfer account. I believe that the women would use these funds judiciously."
Another BJP MP, Bhartruhari Mahtab praised the historical move to provide 1 crore women with Rs 10000 annually under the Subhadra scheme and recognising the contribution of women.
"This scheme is a recognition. It is historical because it started today in Odisha. 1 crore women will receive Rs 10000 annually, which will be digitally credited into their bank accounts, this isn't some small amount. This amount is a recognition of their contribution towards the development of the society," he said.
Odisha MLA Prithiviraj Harichandan said that the current government is quite ahead of the previous government ,"I have seen many governments come and go, but the performance of this government especially the first 100 days of performance, We are many steps ahead of the previous state governments' first 100 days of governance. We have stood on the expectations of the people. Whatever we wanted to do, we have done many more schemes and achievements. In the coming days, we still have 5 years we will work for the welfare of the state as mentioned in our manifesto and even beyond that."
Earlier today, the Prime Minister travelled to Odisha and interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban. Thereafter, he laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various development projects worth more than Rs. 3800 crores in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
PM Modi also launched 'SUBHADRA', the flagship scheme of the Government of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar. It is the largest, single women-centric scheme and is expected to cover more than 1 crore women. Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs. 50,000/- over a period of 5 years between 2024-25 to 2028-29. An amount of Rs 10,000/- per annum in two equal instalments will be credited directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account. On this historic occasion, the Prime Minister would initiate the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women. (ANI)
