Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 7 (ANI): State BJP President Sukanta Majumdar on Friday questioned the West Bengal Police for giving "permission" to the TMC to protest outside the Raj Bhavan and "break Section 144."
"Section 144 is always imposed in the area around Raj Bhavan and High Court. So the first question that arises is that if Abhishek Banerjee is conducting a political program in that area then has West Bengal Police given him permission to break Section 144?...," Majumdar said
The BJP MP further said that if Abhishek Banerjee is allowed to protest in this important location then BJP and those protesting for jobs should also be allowed to protest.
Earlier, the TMC's protest against the Central government alleging a delay in fund allocation under MGNREGA and other social security schemes for West Bengal entered the third day on Saturday in Kolkata.
