BJP govt began implementing manifesto promises from Day One: Odisha Deputy CM Deo

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo has said that from day one when the BJP government assumed office, the work of implementing the promises in the election manifesto has started. He pointed out that the first decision of the government was to open the gates of the Lord Jagannath temple.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], July 13 (ANI): Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo has said that from the first day that BJP government assumed office, work of implementing the election manifesto promises had begun. The first decision of the government, he said, was to open the gates of the Lord Jagannath temple.
"On July 12th, we completed one month. From the day we took the oath, this government has started its work in connection with the manifesto with which we went to the people. Important decisions taken by the government are being implemented. The first decision was to open the gates of Lord Jagannath temple. The second decision was to create a corpus fund of Rs 500 crores for Lord Jagannath for any necessities required for Niti Kanti. The third decision was regarding the Subhadra Yojana," Deo told ANI.
He said that the government has been conducting pre-budget consultation meetings to get input from the various stakeholders. A full-fledged budget for 2024-25 is scheduled to be tabled in the assembly on July 25.
"We had announced that prior to the budget, we would like the stakeholders to give suggestions. We had 3 former finance ministers who attended the meeting and gave input. Since this is the first budget of the BJP government, I am sure we will rise to the occasion," Deo said.
The first session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence on July 22, 2024, according to an official statement.
As per the official notification, the session will begin with Odisha Governor Raghubar Das' address, which will be followed by a motion of thanks on the governor's address.
As per the schedule, the Odisha budget for 2024-25 will be presented on July 25.
The complete schedule of the Odisha Legislative Assembly's provisional calendar sittings suggests the Governor's Address and a Motion of Thanks on the Governor's Address on July 22.
The announcement in connection with the election of the Deputy Speaker and the discussion on the Motion of thanks on the Governor's address take place on July 23.
The election of the Deputy Speaker will take place on July 24. The budget for the year 2024-25 will be presented on July 25. The general discussion on budget will be held on July 29.
The motion on vote on account and discussion on the motion on the vote on account will take place on July 30.
Appropriation Bill on vote on account will be held on July 31. (ANI)
