Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 27 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah made an indirect attack on the Congress and other opposition parties over alleged "parivarvad" (dynastic politics), while lauding the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He said that the BJP is the only party where a booth president can go on to become the National President of the party.
While speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new BJP office in Mumbai, Union Minister Amit Shah said, "BJP is the only political party in India, where a booth president can go on to become the National President of the party. I am the biggest example of it. I started my journey in the BJP in 1981 as a booth president, and my party gave me a chance to become the National President of the party. This tells that our party doesn't work on dynastic principles, but on democratic principles."
He further added that the BJP values hard work and said, "The one who works hard and moves ahead on the principles of the party, the one who performs, can become a big leader in the party. We have proved that dynastic politics will not continue in the country, and only a politics of performance will be accepted. Modi ji is the biggest example of this."
He further added, "Since the inception of Jana Sangh, we have always accepted the working of our party based on the concept of organisation. We have always formed our policies based on principles. We have fought the toughest battles in the best interest of the country and its people. The place where these three objectives are fulfilled is the BJP office... BJP is standing strong on its feet in Maharashtra and doesn't need any support."
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the state-of-the-art Deep-Sea Fishing Vessels at Mazagon Dock inthe Maharashtra capital city Mumbai.
Speaking at the event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed that India's maritime position, democratic stability, and naval capabilities are playing a crucial role in connecting the Indo-Pacific and the Global South, along with accelerating development, security, and environmental protection through its maritime presence.
Addressing the inauguration of the fourth India Maritime Week-2025 in Mumbai, Shah noted that India's maritime history dates back 5000 years and said that now India is ready to create a new maritime history. (ANI)
