New Delhi [India], April 22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson, Priyanka Kakkar, attacked the BJP government, saying that the party "has no respect towards governments elected by the people" and accused it of disturbing the elected party's work.
"The BJP has no respect towards governments elected by the people. They appoint their agents as governors and lieutenant governors whose sole job is to run parallel governments and obstruct the work of the elected government... This matter has become more serious, as recently the Supreme Court also spoke about it and told how the Tamil Nadu governor was wrong in many things," Kakkar said.
She further claimed that the Supreme Court is "the only place which cannot be managed by the BJP", and that the court also discloses the BJP's illicit activities.
"BJP can manage anything but the Supreme Court. The SC exposed the BJP's unlawful activities; it recently exposed the government on the electoral board and told how these bonds were a result of money laundering. It explained how only the elected government in Delhi will have the services, and not the BJP agents."
The AAP member further added that the BJP government has also started disregarding SC orders.
"The BJP government disobeys the SC orders time and again. Recently, their supporters had started calling them the Sharia Court of India. Recently, we saw what Nishikant Dubey spoke about the Supreme Court. This country has often seen the emergence of many dictators, who have come and left. But the Supreme Court has forever remained supreme, and it'll keep holding them accountable for their mistakes."
Earlier on Saturday, Priyanka Kakkar called BJP leader Nishikant Dubey's statement on the Supreme Court "shoddy" and hoped that the top court would initiate suo motu contempt proceedings against the BJP leader.
"He has made a very shoddy statement...I hope that tomorrow, the Supreme Court will immediately initiate suo-moto contempt proceedings against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and send him to jail...Whenever any judge gives a judgment in favour of the BJP, they are sent to the Rajya Sabha, and now, when a judge gave an instruction that the law should be followed and governors should not sit indefinitely on bills, the BJP has used all its resources to defame the judges and attack the Supreme Court," Priyanka Kakkar told ANI.
Kakkar's statement came in response to Nishikant Dubey's allegation that the Supreme Court is responsible for "inciting religious wars" in the country. Dubey said the Parliament building should be closed down if the apex court has to make the laws. (ANI)
