BJP advises Rahul to stop lying and daydreaming

New Delhi/Ahmedabad [India] Nov. 8 (ANI): The Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday advised Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to stop lying and daydreaming.

Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Piyush Goyal targeted Gandhi over his recent demonetisation tweet.

On the first anniversary of the demonetisation, Gandhi tweeted, "Demonetisation is a tragedy. We stand with millions of honest Indians, whose lives & livelihoods were destroyed by PM's (Prime Minister Narendra Modi's) thoughtless act."

Talking to ANI here on the same, Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Gandhi scion had been spreading lies on Twitter and should stop the practice.

"What has happened to Rahul Gandhi? Is he hell bent upon converting Indian National Congress to Indian Incorrect Congress? Sometimes he tweets about his dog. Now, he has tweeted in the name of a poor Nandlal to oppose demonetisation, who has said on record that he supports Prime Minister Modi as he is doing good work for the country. Rahul Gandhi thinks of only his family and makes a joke out of poor people's pain, that too without realizing the truth," Prasad said.

On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Modi announced to demonetise 500- and 1000-rupee banknotes with an aim to weaken the black money or shadow economy in the country.

The Law and Information Technology Minister claimed that the country is becoming honest after demonetisation.

"Have Rahul Gandhi and Congress become a factory of lies? After demonetisation, the nation is becoming honest; stone pelting incidents have lessened in Kashmir Valley; Maoism and Naxalism have also been restricted; and around 2,24000 companies have been deregistered."

He sarcastically said that Rahul never tweeted about the scams that happened during the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

"Has Rahul Gandhi ever tweeted on 2G scam, coal scam, Adarsh and Commonwealth scams?" asked Prasad.

He also alleged that the Congress leaders have to bear Rahul Gandhi because of the Gandhi family.

"Had Rahul Gandhi been in any other party, he would've been shown the way out. Wherever he steps in, the Congress loses elections. There are good people in Congress but they have to bear with Rahul Gandhi only because of the Gandhi family," said Prasad.

Union Minister of Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal said in Ahmedabad that Rahul Gandhi should stop daydreaming about political comeback of the Congress.

"Rahul is daydreaming at a time when the country is moving towards becoming free from the Congress. In 2014, the BJP had governments in six states and now it is governing 18 states independently or with its allies. On the other hand, the Congress is losing in various states. The Congress ruled Himachal Pradesh will also become free of it when assembly elections results are announced on December 18. Karnataka assembly polls are slated in April next year, and the Congress will lose it also," Goyal said.

The Union Minister also criticised former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for his criticism over demonetisation.

"Dr Manmohan Singh headed government of corrupt and black marketers for 10 years. Scams like 2G, coal block allotment, commonwealth, Adarsh like happened during his tenure. He doesn't have a moral background to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, which is fighting to make India free from corruption and black money. Today, not only the country but the whole world is appreciating Prime Minister Modi and a danger is looming on the Congress and its existence," Goyal said.

On Tuesday, Dr Manmohan Singh said in Gujarat's capital Ahmedabad that demonetisation is not a desirable way of tackling black money.

He also termed demonetisation as a clear case of organised loot and legalised plunder.

While the Congress and other Opposition parties observed November 8 as 'black day' to oppose demonetisation, the ruling BJP observed it as anti-black money day. (ANI)
