Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 16 (ANI): A bike rally was held on Sunday to spread voter awareness ahead of the assembly elections in the Union Territory.
Doda District Magistrate Harvinder Singh said that the Mega Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) festival is being held across the district.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said "Mega Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) festival is being organised across various areas in the district for the elections on September 18. We all participated in the bike rally. Nukkad nataks and other events by school children are also being organised under SVEEP to spread voter awareness among people so that more and more people cast votes on September 18."
Further, he said that all arrangements have been made for the elections, and it would be a fair and smooth process.
"We have been working on all arrangements for the elections and I am happy to say that we are succeeding in them. The whole election process will be a fair and smooth process, and we will keep in mind the suggestions of the people as well," he added.
On September 15, a voter awareness program SVEEP was organized at Pratap Park in Srinagar.
Sapna Kotwal, media nodal officer SVEEP, told ANI that the purpose of the program is to make the people aware of the importance of voting and give them necessary information regarding voting.
"These SVEEP programmes are being conducted across Jammu and Kashmir by district election officers. These activities are conducted according to the guidelines of the Election Commission," Sapna Kotwal told ANI.
Kotwal said that if any voter faces problems regarding voting, they can call in 950 toll-free number.
Earlier this week, another SVEEP campaign was organised at the Jhelum Riverfront in Srinagar.
The event, led by the District Election Officer, saw participation from students of various schools and colleges, contributing creatively to the initiative to educate voters about the electoral process.
The campaign featured a range of activities, including setting up a demo polling station where students demonstrated the voting process to the public.
This hands-on approach helped people familiarise themselves with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and understand voter rights and responsibilities.
Students used art, posters, and other engaging activities to capture public interest and spread the message about the importance of voting. (ANI)
