Bihar: Train coaches derailed in Lakhisarai, no causalities reported

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday attended a blood donation camp organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha in Patna on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday as part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'.

"You must have noticed that over 45 lakh people in Bihar are suffering due to devastating floods; they have no food or clean water, and lives are being lost. Yet the government has made no proper arrangements for them. Instead, on the Prime Minister's birthday, a staggering 100 crore rupees, drawn from the state's already depleted treasury, is being squandered merely on lighting lamps," Yadav told reporters.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday launched a massive search operation covering four premises across Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Karnataka linked to a bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Jharkhand's Ranchi in June this year.

"The flood this year has broken all records. A large area has been inundated, affecting about 50 lakh of the population. We also saw crop and house damage at several locations. But it is satisfying that under the leadership of CM Samrat Choudhary, rescue and relief operations are going on very well," Chouhan said.

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, alongside Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, on Wednesday conducted an extensive ground survey of flood-affected regions in Bihar and assured full assistance from the Central Government to help the state tide over the crisis.
