Patna (Bihar) [India], December 27 (ANI): Educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, alias Khan Sir, on Friday met with protesting Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants in Bihar's Patna and appealed to them to protest peacefully.
"Everyone wants a re-exam," he said while addressing the aspirants. He also joined the protestors as they chanted slogans against BPSC.
Taking a dig at BPSC, he said that the country's GDP had fallen first, followed by bridges and BPSC. "Pehle desh ka GDP gira, phir Bihar mein pul (Bridge) gira, phir BPSC gir gaya."
The BPSC aspirants had gathered outside the commission's office in Patna, demanding the cancellation of the exam. The protests, which began on December 13, were triggered by allegations of irregularities during the exam conducted by the BPSC.
Candidates have claimed that the question paper was leaked, and there were delays in distributing the papers. Several candidates also reported receiving the question paper nearly an hour late, while others claimed that answer sheets were torn, fuelling suspicions of a potential leak.
The protests in the state have steered sharp political reaction, with Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Yadav saying that the police should not have resorted to "lathi charge" on the protesting students and said that what was done was wrong.
"They shouldn't have done this. It's wrong..." Lalu Yadav said.
However, police department authorities clarified that "mild force" was used and denied any injuries to the protesting aspirants.
Earlier, on Thursday, Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishore gave an "ultimatum" to the Bihar government, demanding that the issue of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants be resolved within three days or he will lead the protests himself.
Speaking to the students at Gardanibagh in Patna, Kishore condemned the 'lathi charge' on the students and called on the NDA-led government to take immediate action on two points.
"The government should meet with student representatives and consider their demand for a re-examination. Yesterday, a student committed suicide, which is unfortunate. The government should announce a compensation of Rs 10,00,000 for the family of the deceased without delay," Kishore demanded.
He made it clear that this was his "ultimatum" to the government, warning that if the issue is not resolved within three days, he would stand at the forefront of the protests.
"This is my ultimatum to the government: if the issue is not resolved within three days and the students decide to protest further, I will be at the forefront," Kishore said. (ANI)

TMC's jibe at Centre amid LPG crisis due to West Asia conflict

In an 'X' post, TMC said the government has "ek hi naara, line mein rahe desh bechara," pointing to past governmental measures including demonetisation, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Special Identification Registration (SIR), and now the LPG shortage. The party described demonetisation as a "Tughlaqi farman" that forced ordinary citizens to wait in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs for days to access their own money. The post also highlighted the 2020 COVID-19 oxygen crisis, when families stood in long lines outside hospitals and suppliers as the public health system collapsed.

“Govt must clarify LPG reserves, supply timelines to public

"The government should clarify - what is the amount of reserves in our country presently, how much is left, how much can be consumed over how many days, and by when are they expecting that the LPG supply would be normalised. I believe the government is having talks; the people of this nation also need to be told about the current situation. If there is a crisis of energy, then by when the government plans to resolve it should also be clarified to the people, especially to the common man," he said.

"Bengal people are watching Mamata's communal mindset": Saraogi

"The Election Commission is a constitutional body. Conducting the SIR process is their right. What do these people want? Do they want to win by using the fake votes of Bangladeshis, Rohingyas, infiltrators, the deceased, and those with double entries? This cannot happen. The people of Bengal have the right to the resources of Bengal, not the infiltrators and Bangladeshis," he said.
