Guwahati (Assam) [India], October 10 (ANI): Assam Deputy Legislative Assembly Speaker Numal Momin on Friday affirmed the National Democratic Alliance's victory in the upcoming Bihar elections, stating that the polls will be based on the issue of "development versus undevelopment".
Speaking to ANI, Numal Momin said, "Here is a clear-cut people's decision. Do they want to make an uneducated person the Chief Minister, or someone who is educated? Class 9th pass is leading this INDI alliance, and the BJP has been doing a tremendous job in Bihar. From Jangalraj during Lalu Prasad Yadav's regime, now, Bihar is prospering. All the Biharis are now getting their dues. So this election is between development vs undevelopment."
Momin said that the result of the Bihar elections won't impact the upcoming polls scheduled in Assam and West Bengal. He stated that every state has its own problems and challenges.
Numal Momin also predicted the BJP's victory in West Bengal and said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has become nervous ahead of the polls.
"Every state has different demographics, challenges and population. Assam's issues are different from those of West Bengal, and West Bengal has its own set of problems. So it depends on the particular state. In Bihar, we are going to win, and after that, one by one, the BJP will form the government in states like West Bengal too. That is why Mamata Banerjee is very nervous and is using her goons to attack our BJP MPs," he added.
The Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker also termed former India Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru "greatest vote chor" and defended the SIR exercise.
"Ulta Chor Kotwal ko Daante. Who is Rahul Gandhi, the son of Rajiv Gandhi. Who is Rajiv Gandhi, the son of Indira Gandhi. Who was Indira Gandhi, daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. Who was Nehru, he was the greatest vote chor. When he became Prime Minister of India, Nehru didn't get a single vote in CWC, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel got 13 votes and another member got three votes. Patel got 13 votes and Nehru got 0 votes, despite that, he became the Prime Minister, which means the greatest vote chor is Jawaharlal Nehru. So many voters have been eliminated from the voter list, who were Bangladeshi and Rohingya. It is a good effort from the government," Momin said. (ANI)
