Kishanganj (Bihar) [India], January 1 (ANI): District Education of Office (DEO) Nasir Hussain has ordered the private schools affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board in Bihar's Kishanjganj district to teach Urdu.
The DEO issued a letter to all private schools, notifying them to teach Urdu in the "minority-dominated district."
DEO Hussain further said that the private schools being operated in the district must ensure necessary arrangements are in place for students to study Urdu. They have been asked to provide compliance report to Bihar Education Project Office, as per the order.
"All the private schools in Kishanganj district, recognized by CBSE Board, are requested to ensure the necessary arrangements for the study of Urdu to the willing students and provide the relevant compliance report to Bihar Education Project Office, Kishanganj," the order dated December 12, 2024, read.
This decision comes after the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) which was held in October, 2024, where Congress MP Javed Azad and Congress MLA Izharul Hussain noted that Urdu was not being taught in private schools in the district.
Meanwhile, Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar on Monday said that the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will probe the complaints raised by the aspirants over the 70th Integrated Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2024.
Speaking to media persons, Kumar said, "They can say what they want; it is their right, but the Commission will probe this and will take an appropriate decision..."
The protesting students in Patna are demanding the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13.
On Sunday, Bihar police lathi-charged and used water cannons to disperse the protesting BPSC aspirants in Gandhi Maidan.Following the incident, Bihar Police registered an FIR against 600-700 individuals, including Jan Suraaj Chief Prashant Kishor, for unauthorised gatherings, instigating people, and creating law and order issues in Gandhi Maidan. LPG rationing could hit every household: Jagat Singh Negi

"LPG is totally controlled by the Central government, and the entire supply is with them. If the rationing of essential commodities continues due to shortages, it will create serious problems. Forget about tourism first; every household kitchen will be affected. If people are unable to cook food on time, it will disrupt daily life. Children have to go to school, workers have to go to work, and if there is no food on time, how will people manage their day?" he raised questions.

"Bengal people are watching Mamata's communal mindset": Saraogi

"The Election Commission is a constitutional body. Conducting the SIR process is their right. What do these people want? Do they want to win by using the fake votes of Bangladeshis, Rohingyas, infiltrators, the deceased, and those with double entries? This cannot happen. The people of Bengal have the right to the resources of Bengal, not the infiltrators and Bangladeshis," he said.
